Keynote | The New Intelligence for the Human Age
COVID-19 is spreading exponentially, workforces have been sent home, physical distancing and self-isolation are the new norm and school's out. Welcome to the reality of being a professional in 2020. Partner this complexity with a workforce that was already feeling burnt out, anxious and humanly disconnected and you have the platform for a perfect storm.

Whilst the immediate priority is focused on flattening the curve, the long-term critical priority is maintaining the mental health of our society so that those who survive have the ability to thrive. We find ourselves at a forced moment of inflection. Mother nature has sent us to our metaphoric rooms and given us time out – time out to rethink the future of humanity and the role we have in shaping it.

Welcome to the human age! A place where those who put humans first and prioritise the mental health of their employees will reap the rewards long term. But how? It’s time to cultivate a new intelligence – an intelligence that enables humans to cease reacting and start intentionally adapting.

This interactive learning experience will explore:

• What it means to be human and why it matters more than ever
• How to cultivate positive human connection experiences whilst working virtually
• A framework for amplifying the human skills required to support intentional adaptation and basic wellbeing

How We Survived COVID and Came Out a Stronger Team
COVID strikes – what now? We have over 900 staff across 3 countries that we need to train to WFH, whilst providing coaching and support and anything else required by the business. We can’t possibly deliver that? Yes we can, and we did!

We delivered virtual desktop training, team leader coaching and trained agents to be multi-skilled in more than one area in 8 hours. We rewrote content that was to be delivered over 2 weeks and delivered it in 8 hours. We trained at 8:00am, and we trained at 10:00pm. The one thing we never said was no we can’t or won’t do it.

3 key learnings for this session include:

1. As an Instructional designer/facilitator you can do anything that is required of you – you can adapt your skills to help you design/deliver any content even if you aren’t the SME
2. The worst situations really do bring out the best in people, and trust helps you deliver anything you have to
3. Learning and capability works best when you consider yourself as a business partner to your stakeholders

Keynote | We Are Stronger Together
2020 has been one tough year. Now, leaders in education are not only tasked with trying to stabilise how they operate during the pandemic, but they also know that in whatever form they seek to rebuild their organisation’s culture, it must be with a committed effort towards diversity, inclusion and equality.

It shouldn’t take social movements like #MeToo or #BlackLivesMatter to awaken a collective consciousness around long-standing systemic biases. René will share, through contemporary stories, how some progressive leaders are going about driving the transformation of their cultures to be more caring and more inclusive in a pragmatic and practical manner.

3 key learnings for this session include:

1. Collaboration is the new leadership
2. How vital inclusive leadership is today
3. Everyone can be a leader if they choose to be

Stay Apart, Stand Together - Learning, Interaction & Mental Health During the Pandemic
In March, Netwealth Investments transitioned a business that did not have a strong working from home culture to everyone working from home. After the adrenaline faded, they realised that this was going to go on a lot longer than they thought. With additional lockdowns, adrenaline became grim determination and then resignation.

They had to address:

• How to induct online
• How to move all training to a virtual environment with little to no supporting technology
• How to support mental health and maintain their culture

They created a web of learning and activities around their people, including changing their existing courses, introducing virtual exercise, performance and wellbeing workshops, their very first mental health sessions, as well as a range of different social interaction drivers.

3 key learnings for this session include:

1. Experiment – there is no magic wand course that works for everyone
2. Zoom out – formal learning is a start but what activities and ideas can you add to the mix to achieve your outcome
3. The personal touch – when the only people you see are through a computer screen, every interaction counts

Innovation in Learning
The world is changing, or so they say. Innovation in learning has been happening consistently for the last five years. In this short 30-minute presentation and 15-minute Live Q&A, Darren and Erin are going to pinpoint some thoughts and ideas that have merged in the last couple years (even in the last six months) of how we're innovating in learning today and where it will take us to in the future.

They will touch upon things like pivoting from in-person learning sessions to virtual – even taking a 300-person conference that usually is held in person and translating that into a virtual conference in collaboration environment all done live in one day. They will talk about how to make work fun in virtual environments and how to help people feel like they are part of a community that continues to give feedback and grow. Most of all, Darren and Erin will focus on the learner and the people side of things and how technology just helps us or augments some of the things that we used to do in person.

3 key learnings for this session include:

1. Learn the top three-to five-pain points and how to solve them in learning today
2. Hear first-hand on how to tackle some of the challenges of going from in person to virtual – not in a traditional move to the cloud, but more about how you innovate and disrupt the way you can do things to solve these problems
3. Hear from practitioners who have done this work in a short period of time leveraging all the tools and resources they have at their disposal, whilst also making things up to meet the needs of their users in the moment
